Nothing About Us, Without Us

Ask the UK Government to include older people in the drafting of a UN Convention

To Chris Elmore MP, UK Foreign Minister responsible for human rights,

We urge the UK Government to ensure that older people are included in drafting a UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons.

More than two billion people will be aged 60 and over in the world by 2050. Today, ageism and gaps in the protection of older people's rights persist globally.  A UN Convention will only succeed if older people are meaningfully involved in its drafting and implementation. Listening to older people and learning from their lived experiences is essential.

We appreciate your support in ensuring older people are valued equally in society.
