David Lammy, Make History

Ask the Foreign Secretary to champion the rights of older people

The open letter:

To David Lammy, Foreign Secretary,

By 2050, more than 2 billion people will be over 60 years old. Yet older people around the world face ageism, loneliness and extreme poverty.

The creation of an international legal framework would protect older people everywhere – from Southampton to South Sudan.

The UK has a proud record of championing human rights. Now, you have another chance to make history.

We call on you to make a statement about this issue.
